The time they spend with their loved ones and performing regular business duties only briefly creates an illusion of a normal life for Maraš, Car, and Baća. Events over which they have less and less influence quickly pull them back to reality—especially Car, who realizes that one cannot escape the past. Sofija also feels the influence of the past when she finds herself at the center of a political scandal during a night out.
